For an objective evaluation, use “Weekly Activities Record Table” to record your activities and lifestyle.

Input the corresponding score that relates to your condition for each activity. “Self monitoring” is one part of behavioral therapy. In general, people only write in the scheduler their future events and not their past. However, by doing this, one can realize all kinds of different things pertaining to their daily lives. Unlike a diary, you do not need to write your most inner thought, but rather your entries can be an objective view of your lifestyle. However, this is most effective if one write down their conflicts and anxieties.

Review the past one week`s activities with the below checklist

1. Are you able to go to sleep early and wake up early as well?
2. Do you sleep for more than 6 hours a night?
3. Do you eat three time a day?
4. Are you able to resist alcohol and tobacco?
5. Are you able to satisfactorily work?
6. Did you have sufficient relaxation time?
7. Were there any issues/problems that arose?
8. Did you effectively deal with things?

It is important to review your lifestyle, behavior, thinking and emotions in an objective manner. With a busy daily life that is a whirl wind of activities, one can lose sight of things, with the result being a physical breakdown or troubles with those around you. Therefore, prior to such happening, one should coolly review themselves.

The above has been a summary overview of self-monitoring. By objectively observing one`s lifestyle, behavior, and thinking, you will be attempting to search for the most realistic coping method. With that being said, it is quite difficult to undertake this by one`s self. In particular, it is hard for a person to think logically and reasonably when dealing with bouts of strong anxiety or depression.
